The Philippines' SakurAiba 2009 Fan meeting

I'm am very pleased to write about this fanmeet. Actually this entry is long overdue and while I'm writing about this my right hand is freezing and my left hand is at normal body temperature. Super Weird.

The fanmeet was held last January 24, 2009 at Sheeella's place basically to celebrate the birth of two-fifths of Arashi, the ultra popular boy group from Japan.

A Double celebration for Sakurai Sho and Aiba Masaki was organized by Em and Teeny with the help of Sheila~ne-chan who gladly allowed us to use their place as the venue. Around 40+ people attended the event, comprised mostly of fangirls. A handful of fanboys was spotted too along with other newbie fanmeet attendees and Manila-Baguio adventurers.

We had games, food and music. ValetParking band played Sakura Sake, Oh! Yeah and Pikanchi Double for us with fangirls representing/ singing the lines of their favorite Arashi boy. For those who can't remember the lyrics, a giant lyric sheet was prepared and was posted at the back.

A cosplay contest was also held and vylette's Mirror man emerged as the most popular and loved cosplay of the night.
We were also grateful to Mr. Lyndon Gregorio and his fiancee, Lei (Chompy) who graced the fanmeet with their presence.

And to document how successful the event was, a comic strip was created and published by Mr. Lyndon Gregorio today Feb 4 at the beerkada.net website and at the Philippine Star (a broadsheet newspaper in the Philippines)
